Insomnia? I think not.

This thing keeps happening where Stephen kisses me goodbye at 4:45am when he leaves for work and then I just lie there in bed with my eyes wide open. It's horrible.
Maybe it's not so much that I can't sleep without him, but rather, that I feel guilty that we go to bed at the same time (usually too late) and then I get to sleep for at least two hours more than he does. Being married has sort of forced me to learn how to sacrifice. And maybe this is a bad example to use, but I feel like if I'm awake at 5 am too, and doing things at home, then I'm putting in the same hours he is. He sacrifices sleep to go to work and earn money and I sacrifice sleep to do the laundry and write thank you cards. OR it's possible that these are the ramblings of a sleep-deprived, newlywed who misses her husband too much to sleep in this big bed all alone.

One of my favorites

When Stephen and I had our wedding reception, we didn't have dancing and, therefore, didn't have a first dance... At least not that night :)
One evening while we were unpacking and organizing our apartment that first week of our marriage, we were listening to Stephen's iPod and he came in the living room where I was and asked me to stand up. He then put his arms around me and we started to slow dance, right there in the middle of all our boxes and belongings, with everything in disarray. The song playing was "Only the Ocean" by Jack Johnson (and if you look up and listen to that song you'll realize just how perfect this moment was). At that moment nothing mattered but the fact that we belonged to each other and we were going to have moments like this one for the rest of eternity. I don't regret not having an official first dance at my wedding, because I did get one and it was exactly the way I would have wanted it: just him and me :)

Why Is All My Stuff Here?: This strange and wonderful adventure called marriage.

We're married!
September !4, 2012 was a perfect day! We were sealed together for time and eternity in the Bountiful Temple, surrounded by family. It was so amazing and I can honestly say I had never been happier than I was, standing there in the temple, with my brand new husband.
Stephen and I went away for the weekend on a little honeymoon at a hotel in downtown Salt Lake. We slept in, we ate out, we did some shopping. It was fun and stuff :) We're HOPING to take a real trip next summer and honeymoon the right way.
When we got home after our weekend getaway, we were slapped in the face by the monster made of stuff that had swallowed our apartment. Just.....STUFF....everywhere...Needless to say, we're still finishing up the cleaning and organizing and we've been married almost 3 weeks. On the bright side, we've thrown away a lot of junk and made this little apartment all our own :)
Being married to Stephen is like living with a really hyper, quirky, hilarious, loving...boy. Yeah, I live with a boy. AND we sleep in the same bed. Weird, I know. Weirdly cool :)
Kinda feels like we're playing house as little kids. Eating dinner together, watching the presidential debate, paying rent...its all a tad daunting and at the same time exciting because we're in it together and we get to stress about it and laugh about it and talk about it together. Together FOREVER :)

Eleven.Whole.Days.

Its our new blog!
Yesterday Stephen asked if I still blogged because the last time I posted on my other blog was in April. SO I thought it would be fun to start fresh with a brand new one because we're about to start fresh with this adventure called MARRIAGE :)
We are seriously so excited. It's hard to describe what it feels like to be eleven days away from being sealed to the love of my life and my very best friend. I can't wait to be Mrs. Fleischel :)
