Hey, we still have a blog

Its been so long since I posted anything on this blog, I had actually forgotten that it existed. We're really on top of things over here.

I thought it might be nice to update those of you who actually read this on what's been happening at the Fleischel house. It's not always exciting but hey, it's life.

STEPHEN. That tall, handsome man. Stephen has worked for 1 800 Contacts since November 2014. He was promoted to a specialist in their warehouse receiving department last Fall and was recently offered an internship with their IT department which he will start this summer.

Stephen has been working on his Bachelor's in Computer Science degree through Weber State University concurrently through SLCC. He's been taking online classes while he works full time every semester, including summer. He works hard but then he also plays hard :) Anyone who knows Stephen knows he's quite the athlete. He's not currently playing on an indoor soccer team but is frequently asked to sub on his friends' teams. He also plays basketball with some friends from work and then with guys in our ward. In his free time, he likes playing computer games with his brothers and teaching me how to appreciate techno music and play Magic, the Gathering.

ALEXANDRA. While my life is not exciting, I enjoy it so much. Last September I quite my job at Cyprus Credit Union to be a stay at home mama. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I started working for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, cleaning their Riverton office building at night. While I get a lot less sleep, I get to spend all day with my Ryker bug--and it is so so worth it. I've set a few goals for myself this year that I'm happy to say are going pretty well. I've made it to the gym twice a week to do my time on the "dread-mill" until the weather warms up enough for me to run outside. Let's be honest, that won't be until at least May--I'm a wimp in the cold. I've also cracked down on the family budget and I'm trying really hard to plan meals and try new recipes- so far, so good! In what spare time I have, I enjoy trying new hairstyles, drinking too much hot cocoa, and napping.

RYKER. What can I say? He's amazing! Stephen and I are head over heels in love with our busy toddler. Every day we see more and more of his personality come through and it is so fun to "get to know" him. We can already tell he's a goofy tease like his daddy. He makes us laugh so hard with his funny faces and fake laughs. His favorite activities include, but are not limited to: creating beautiful works of art with crayons and Star Wars stickers, climbing up things off of which he could potentially fall, screaming at the top of his lungs when we change his diaper, pooping in the bath tub, climbing in the bath tub, splashing in the bath tub, throwing things in the bath tub, drawing with bath crayons in the bath tub (really anything to do with the bath tub), stomping around in the snow, dancing to daddy's techno music, reading the same book 13 times in a row, and running around the house like a mad man. His favorite words are: No, Go, Don't, Bye, Mama, Dada, and More. He keeps us on our toes and we love him oh so much.

The three of us are thick as thieves and I love the time we get to spend together as a family. My favorite part of the day is when we sit down to eat dinner. Ryker inevitably makes us laugh uncontrollably, and even if the food is terrible at least we get some screen-free time to talk and just be together.

That's life!
